How we verify dealers
Anyone can list a car on most marketplaces the moment they sign up. On IndieMotors, a dealer stays completely invisible to buyers until a member of our team has personally checked them and approved their account - that’s what the Approved independent dealer badge on every listing actually means.
Three checks, every dealer, before they go live
Companies House
We look up the applicant's registered business on Companies House and check it against the name of the person who applied - so the dealer is a real, registered company, run by who they say they are.
Existing reviews
We check the dealer's existing reviews - Google and elsewhere - for anything that would flag them as untrustworthy before we let them list a single car.
A real trading address
We confirm the trading address given is a genuine, physical dealer premises - not a residential address, and not one that doesn't exist.
This is a manual review, not an algorithm - there’s no automated approval on IndieMotors. And it isn’t a one-off box we tick and forget: if something comes to light after a dealer’s been approved, we can suspend their account at any time.
See it in action
Every dealer you’ll find on IndieMotors has already passed this process.
